In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Daniel Burns, Lake Erie Medical Services (LEMS) OB/GYN specialist, with the help of his assistant for the day, Erie II Boces CNA student, Emily Jackson, provided on-site breast exams and referred one dozen women for same day mammograms at Brooks. LEMS and Brooks Hospital participated in The Chautauqua Center’s first annual Mammo-Grammy’s, where over 70 women in Chautauqua County without health insurance or with high deductibles received FREE clinical breast exams. Participants were treated to a day of pampering to celebrate healthy lifestyles and learn more about how to reduce their risk for breast cancer and early detection.
