We are especially pleased to be able to offer high definition gastroscopy, high definition laparoscopic/arthroscopic procedures and use some of the leading genealogical equipment. All of our services are provided on a smaller, less intimidating campus with a family-like atmosphere.
The unit is staffed by highly qualified professionals who have received credentialing as a certified nurse of the OR (CNOR). We also have RN First assistants on staff. Our staff are members of various professional organizations including: American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN), Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) and Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
The first step for any surgical procedure is patient education, and the Surgical Services staff at Brooks works very hard to make sure that all patients know what to expect. Preoperative teaching is a priority at Brooks, with customized information available for all patients. In addition, joint replacement patients can participate in a multi-departmental educational seminar prior to surgery, with key staff from the Operating Room, Physical Therapy, Medical Surgery Unit, Infection Control and Social Work. They are all there to provide information and answer any questions you may have. If you are unable to attend an instructional DVD can be provided upon request. We provide pre-operative information for other procedures and a custom "Getting Ready for Surgery" booklet that helps guide patients through the entire process.
The Surgical Services Department works with nationally recognized patient satisfaction experts Press Ganey to survey our ambulatory patients regarding the care they have received. We work hard to make sure that your experience with us is as enjoyable as possible.
