Your Prescription for Treatment of Athletic Injuries
Safeguarding the Health of Our Community
Brooks Sports Medicine is a continuity of care injury prevention and treatment program for the purpose of safeguarding the health of athletes and other active individuals of all ages. It involves the coordination of high-quality Athletic Training services, with emergency care, diagnostic imaging, orthopedic specialty services, and physical therapy / rehabilitation.
In cooperation with Lakeshore Orthopedic Group, P.C., the program launched in Fall 2015, initially with Dunkirk and SilverCreek school district athletic departments, but is now expanding to include other public and private sporting events.
Add a Brooks AT to Your Team!
Our continuity of care model features services of a certified Athletic Trainer (AT); a licensed allied health care professional who specializes in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses in athletes.
In addition to orthopedic or musculoskeletal pathologies and concussions, an AT is trained and prepared to address Sudden Death in Sports (SIS), with causes including asthma, catastrophic brain injuries, cervical spine injuries, diabetes, exertional heat stroke, head-down contact in football, and more…… directly from the sidelines.
