Patients in this specialty unit typically spend 3 – 4 hours, 3 times each week receiving live saving treatment. Betty’s family clearly remembered how she enjoyed the warm blankets the unit nurses used to tuck their mother in with for the lengthy treatments each week. It was then unanimous; a blanket warmer for the unit would be donated to the hospital.
Together with the Auxiliary of BMH, Betty’s family generously donated funds to purchase a state of the art blanket warmer for hospital use.
Dialysis unit nurses recall how their patient always looked forward to her grandchildren’s visits. Betty was a delight not only to her family, but to hospital staff and other patients receiving treatment. Indeed, the warm hearts of Betty and her family, along with the Auxiliary of BMH, will continue warming patients from head to toe.
